The CBSE grading system for classes 9 and 10 uses a 10-point grading scale.

The overall performance of a student is determined by calculating the Grade Point Average (GPA), which is the weighted average of the grade points obtained in various subjects. The CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average) is also calculated for the entire classes 9 and 10. It is the average of all the GPAs obtained by the student in those classes.

For classes 11 and 12, CBSE uses letter grades on a 5-point scale.
